The Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario (RMTAO) is seeking an enthusiastic communicator to provide support and leadership as our Communication and Member Services Planner.
Job Description
The Communication and Member Services Planner will support the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer in achieving the Association’s vision by providing leadership and management of communication and member services. This includes RMTAO publications, electronic media, and social media programs, as well as member relation, membership renewal, and membership recruitment programs.
The role of Communication and Member Services Planner requires an individual who is equally skilled at communicating with members, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders and providing leadership in membership programs. Ideally, they will have experience in healthcare not-for-profit communication, promotion, and membership. The successful candidate will be working cooperatively with a small staff and reporting directly to the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer.
The Communication and Member Services Planner has a vital role in ensuring the success of the RMTAO, the profession of massage therapy, and healthcare options in Ontario. They will also help to shape how the RMTAO is perceived and interacts with members and the public.

Location: Toronto, Ontario
Position Responsibilities
Support the planning, development, and execution of a comprehensive communication plan for the RMTAO. Providing a clear and accurate message relating to the profession of massage therapy and the RMTAO.
Assisting in relating the vision, position, and role of the RMTAO to members, volunteers, stakeholders, and the public.
Partnering in the development and delivery of RMTAO periodicals and publications, including, Massage Therapy Today, electronic communications, brochures, and member toolkits.
Collaboration in the continued development of publication marketing and advertising programs. Responsibility for the promotion of RMTAO events, education programs, and member services.
Maintenance and update of RMTAO websites and social media communications. Creation of RMTAO related content to ensure members and the public are well informed of activities, services, programs, and advocacy.
Development of membership recruitment and renewal program. Responsibility for annual membership drives, student membership program, membership services, and member inquiries.
Participating in planning and budgeting for communication and membership programs. Responsibility for billing and payment relating to membership, member services, and publication advertising.
