This one-day continuing education training focuses on how chronic stress and prolonged sympathetic nervous system activation can present in the musculoskeletal system. Through an evidence-informed lens, participants will examine the relationship between the autonomic nervous system, soft tissue tone and postural adjustments commonly observed in patients experiencing stress-related physical symptoms and pain.
Drawing from massage therapy assessment framework, anatomy, neurophyisiology, and principles of Polyvagal Theory this training focuses on observation, palpation and clinical reasoning to support safe and patient-centered treatment planning within the massage therapy scope of practice.
This training supports
RMTs/Health Practitioners
in preparing to work confidently and safely with patients who present with physical symptoms commonly associated with chronic stress, anxiety and pain.
