Sample Social Media Posts - Primary Care Demonstration Project

The RMTAO has submitted a proposal for an expanded version of our recent pilot project that embedded RMTs into a team-based, integrated primary care setting. The results of this pilot project were outstanding, with participants experiencing reduced pain, improved treatment outcomes, and improved quality of life.

The objective of this new demonstration project is to expand Ontario’s capacity to manage both acute and chronic pain using a non-pharmaceutical approach in primary care, through the integration of Registered Massage Therapists as part of comprehensive rehabilitative team-based care.

Through this project, we aim to provide policymakers and healthcare administrators with strong evidence to support the broader integration of massage therapy into Ontario's primary care system. To help secure funding and ensure the success of this initiative, we are seeking support from MPPs across the province.

We met with a wide range of MPPs about this issue during our Queen’s Park Day on October 22, but we also need the support of RMTs across Ontario to help spread the word.

We have created a series of five ready-to-share posts that you can use to tag your MPP, and increase their awareness of why they should support this project and help make massage therapy more accessible to Ontarians across the province.

not luxury

Access to massage therapy is out of reach for many people who need it to manage pain simply because they can’t afford it.

That’s why I’m calling on (@YourMPPHandle) to support the RMTAO’s proposal to integrate massage therapy into primary care teams across Ontario.

Everyone deserves access to the care they need, when and where they need it. Massage therapy in primary care would improve pain management and wellbeing for people in our community.

health teams

RMTs already work alongside other healthcare professionals to reduce pain, improve movement, and support better quality of life. But not everyone can access this care.

That’s why I’m asking (@YourMPPHandle) to support the integration of RMTs into more primary care teams so people across Ontario can benefit.

Everyone deserves access to a diverse and complete healthcare team. Let’s make care more comprehensive and more equitable.

savings

Massage therapy helps people recover from injury, manage chronic conditions, and reach their health goals, but not everyone can access it.

I’m asking (@YourMPPHandle) to support integrating RMTs into primary care teams across Ontario.

Let’s build stronger, more complete healthcare teams that work for everyone.

access

Massage therapy can help people take less pain medication and see their doctor less often, but access is still limited to those who can afford it.

RMTs in primary care will support pain management, improve access to care, and reduce the burden on our healthcare system.

access

Over 3 million Ontarians live with chronic pain, but access to effective care like massage therapy is still limited by income.

RMTs in primary care can help people manage chronic pain, improve function, and access the care they need, close to home.

I’m asking (@YourMPPHandle) to support integrating RMTs into more primary care teams across Ontario.
