Letter to MPPs – OCF-18 Signature Requirement

As you may know, RMTs can’t sign the OCF-18 Treatment and Assessment Plan forms for individuals who have been in a motor vehicle accident, as they are not explicitly listed in the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule. This results in barriers to care, worsened patient outcomes, administrative headaches for RMTs and patients, among other issues.

Building on our past advocacy efforts to address this issue, which include meetings with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Red-Tape Reduction and other MPPs, you can help by sending a letter to your MPP requesting that they contact the Minister of Finance, asking for his support in changing this legislation so that RMTs are able to independently sign the OCF-18 form.

The time to act is now! The government is currently determining their budget for the next fiscal year, and we can bring about this change by getting it included in the next budget.

We’ve made it easy for you. You can use our quick and easy template to send a letter to your MPP to put the pressure on.  If you’re unsure of who your MPP is, you can find their contact info here.

If you contact your MPP, we encourage you to let us know at info@rmtao.com so we can help support future advocacy efforts with your MPP.

MPPs are more likely to support something that is important to their constituents, so by sending a letter to your MPP, you are helping this change to the OCF-18 form become a reality.
