Further Regions Entering Stage 2

More regions in Ontario will enter Stage 2 of reopening on Friday amid improving coronavirus case numbers, though Toronto, Peel Region, and Windsor-Essex will remain in Stage 1.

The public health regions that can begin stage 2 starting Friday, June 19 are:

  • Durham Region Health Department;
  • Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit;
  • Halton Region Health Department;
  • Hamilton Public Health Services;
  • Lambton Health Unit;
  • Niagara Region Public Health Department;
    • and
  • York Region Public Health Services.

In areas allowed to begin stage 2, reopening includes but is not limited to - restaurants and bars reopening outdoor eating areas, hairdressers, tattoo and piercing studios and other personal services reopening with public health restrictions in place and museums and libraries reopening following certain precautions.

New Free RMTAO webinar

The RMTAO is pleased to announce a new free webinar exclusively available for RMTAO members. This webinar, titled A Massage Therapist’s Guide to COVID-19 will be presented by Ruth Werner on Tuesday June 23 at 1 p.m.

In this webinar Ruth Werner will discuss the pathophysiology of COVID-19, the condition caused by the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus. We will look at how the virus moves through the body, how it affects function, and how it leads to many complications that may affect choices for massage therapy and bodywork.

In addition, we will discuss basic hygienic precautions in the context of this virus, with reference to the Ontario-based practice guidelines and others, some of which Ruth helped to create.

This webinar will include a live question and answer session.
