Notice of Annual General Meeting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting of the Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel, located at 901 Dixon Road in Toronto, Ontario.

The following matters will constitute the agenda:

  1. Call to Order, Welcome and Introductions
  2. Approval of the Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held February 6, 2022 - Download the RMTAO 2022 AGM Draft Minutes
  3. Board Chair's Report on behalf of the Board of Directors
  4. Executive Director's Report on Operations
  5. Auditor's Report & Audited Financial Statements for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2022
  6. Appointment of the Auditor
  7. Report on the Election of Directors
  8. Such other business as may properly come before the meeting.

Important Notes

Vote by Proxy

If you are unable to attend the Annual General Meeting in person, please complete the Proxy Form that is available for download below and return it to the RMTAO by mail, fax or other electronic version prior to 4:00 p.m. January 13, 2023. In order for the AGM to proceed, 1% of the members must be present in person or by Proxy which means a large number of Proxies will be required.

Live Stream the Event 

The RMTAO will be live streaming the Annual General Meeting for those unable to attend in person. Please note that those streaming the meeting will not be able to vote, but are welcome to submit a proxy form. The link to stream the meeting will be provided prior to the meeting and you must register in advance.

CMTO Presentation

Immediately following the RMTAO Annual General Meeting, representatives of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) will be making a presentation.

CMTO’s 2023-25 priorities include engaging with RMTs, preventing sexual abuse, and demonstrating accountability and the value of regulation. Join Maureen Boon, Registrar and CEO as she describes CMTO’s new Strategic Plan and engagement and partnership opportunities going forward.

Please note this rate for RMTAO members is only available until January 5, 2023.
